When we become mothers, we dream of giving our children the best future. But sometimes, life brings unexpected challenges. Some children are born with or develop special abilities that make everyday things a little harder. These may affect their walking, talking, hearing, or learning. But let me tell you—every child with special abilities also has hidden strengths waiting to shine.
In India, almost 1 in 50 children lives with such challenges. The earlier we support them, the more confident and independent they become.
My Experience with Cerebral Palsy
I once met a mother whose little boy had Cerebral Palsy, a condition that makes muscles stiff and movement difficult. He got this because of a problem during birth. At first, she felt helpless. But with regular physiotherapy, the boy slowly learned to sit, crawl, and later even walk with support. Today, he goes to school with a big smile. It showed me how early care can change a child’s life.
Meeting a Child with Down’s Syndrome
Another mother shared her story of a daughter born with Down’s Syndrome. The child had a flat face, slanting eyes, and a sweet smile. Doctors explained that this happens when a baby is born with an extra chromosome. The girl learns a bit slower than others, but with her parents’ love and training, she sings beautifully and even helps in the kitchen. Her parents say, “She may be different, but she completes our family.”
Why Our Support Matters
Mothers like us know how difficult it is when society does not understand our children. Sometimes schools, sports, or even relatives fail to include them. But when we show patience, give encouragement, and ask for the right medical help, these children grow with confidence.
At Care Autism for Life, we believe no child with special abilities should feel left behind. With therapies, training, and emotional support, we help families see the true potential of their children.
As mothers, caretakers, and neighbors, we can bring change. Let us remember—every child, whether with special abilities or not, deserves love, acceptance, and the chance to live a happy and fulfilling life.

“Namaste.
As mothers, we all dream of giving our children the best future.
But sometimes… life writes a different story.
Some children are born with, or develop, what we lovingly call special abilities.
This may affect how they walk, talk, hear, or learn.
But remember, every child with special abilities also has hidden strengths… waiting to shine.”

Her parents say, ‘She may be different… but she completes our family.’
Isn’t that beautiful?”
